A number of factors are taken into account when quotes are calculated, these include materials, travel expenses and the complexity of the artwork required. Whilst some artists do charge an hourly rate, I feel that this puts time restrictions on the contract and would lead to quality issues, so I quote per animal, child or character.
If your chosen theme is a Jungle, Woodland or Underwater design for example, I would be more than happy to supply you with a breakdown quote. This would not only enable you to see the costs of individual items, but would allow you to tailor the theme to reflect your budget.
After you have been given your quotation, I do not differentiate from it unless you require additional artwork.
